Celebrating a national day across the district

Client: Huntingdonshire District Council

The challenge

Huntingdonshire District Council wanted to mark a locally significant date – Huntingdonshire Day – by holding a civic celebration. The challenge was how to create an event that was more than just a symbolic nod to the birth date of the one-time famous resident, Oliver Cromwell. Instead, it should actively celebrate the people, projects, and potential of the district.

Our approach

We designed an ambitious event that aligned seamlessly with the Huntingdonshire Futures strategy – a celebration that put the spotlight on individuals and groups driving positive change across the district through council-operated grant schemes.

To strike the right balance between civic formality and community celebration, we transformed a local venue with nature-inspired styling.  Business leaders, community champions, and civic dignitaries were invited to an elegant afternoon tea. The programme also featured inspiring keynote speeches, a panel discussion with five grant recipients, and a showcase area highlighting the real-world impact of their work – all directed by us.

Impact
  • Over 60 guests attended, including 5 civic representatives, two and nearly 40 local business and community champions
  • Council brand and reputation strengthened, with a clear demonstration of community commitment thanks to Keystone-led messaging and event treatment

Keystone built a campaign that was fresh, fun and engaging, using new ways of working to reach newer and bigger audiences.
